We went kayaking in Ketchikan, Alaska while on our Alaska cruise with Royal Caribbean. It was our first stop on the cruise and our first excursion so it gave us a nice idea of what we would be able to expect from the rest of the cruise.
We decided to kayak an eco tour with Ketchikan Kayaking Co while in Ketchikan and it was a fantastic idea. As you can see from the video we saw a lot of wild life including sea lions, harbor seals, starfish, and tons of bald eagles. It was a truly amazing kayak experience and my first time on the open sea, even if it was a less rough little inlet area that was more like a lake!
We watched a sea lion thrash around and throw his salmon dinner which was really interesting! It was almost scary how large and powerful the sea lions were out there. It was amazing to get so close but also a wonderful reminder of how wild nature is.
